SMALL GROUP MINISTRY

The Small Group team is directly involved in the selection of literature and the promotion of small groups during Spring and in the Fall. Small groups meet in the various homes of our members throughout the community. It is a time of learning about a certain topic but more importantly it is a time of learning about one another and growing the family of Cool Springs. 

Bruce and Vonda Jennings are the Small Group ministry leaders.

Small groups are not a program but a primary model for having church found in the New Testament. 

The book of Acts teaches that the early church met as a church gathered and a church scattered.  Somehow, we have forgotten the “scattered” church, and small group ministry can help us model the early church.  We must work together on what it takes to help our people do life together just like Jesus.  And the best part about this is that Jesus didn’t just tell us to do it, he modeled it through his own life and ministry.  Jesus didn’t have a “program”.  He took twelve people and poured his life into them for three years.  They lived their lives together, learning from him.  He sent them off to do the same.  Wow!  What an amazing thing happened from this small group! 

We have two main drives each year for Small groups during the Spring and Fall.

The purpose of small groups will follow Biblical functions for our Church family:

- Connect through Fellowship

- Grow through Discipleship

- Develop through Ministry

- Share through Missions

- Surrender through Worship

People come to small groups seeking intimacy and spiritual growth.

They will feel more connected and free to share life experiences and stories as the group studies God’s word and prays together.

- Special Needs Workers

- Spiritual Counselors
